A Brief Summary on Our Company´s History

1972

In September of that year, Hans Oberdorfer, who at that time, was a young electronics engineer, already with some years of experience in the electronics industry, founded this company. The firm in his single ownership at first was a sales- and service company, specializing in semi - professional CCTV video camera - , recording- and control systems, mainly for industrial applications.

1973

The service sector became more impotant and consequently, the company´s activities concentrated more and more on video camera inspection services of cavities, firing kilns and pipe systems.

1974

In order to be able to manufacture special housings for prototypes of new products to come, a mechanical machining shop was added.

1975

The first self-driven video inspection camera for sewer pipes of 250 mm i.D.and larger, equipped with a 1” Vidicon receiving tube, 2 x 70 W lighting and 100 meters of Triax camera cable was developed and built.

1976

Specialized services in the field of sewer pipes inspection started on a bigger scale an were performed at varios locations all over Germany.

1977

Inspection service tasks under extraordinary conditions like in the mountains and on garbage dump installations followed.

1978

Several new types of inspection cameras were developed. From now on, it was possible to inspect pipes as small as 100 mm I.D.and larger with these new television cameras.

1981

First presentation of the company at the IFAT, the world´s number 1 specialized International Fair for Waste Disposal and Environment, at Munich, Germany. The IFAT takes place in terms of every 3 years.

1984

Our first hydraulik operated sewer pipe robot with multi - purpose attachment fixtures for root cutting, milling, sawing etc.in pipes was developed and manufactured.

1987

A swivel - head type color television camera with a rotate angle of 360° for the inspection of pipes of 150 mm I.D. followed.

1990

The second generation of robots and swivel - head type color television cameras was introduced.

1992

Our service division adds sewer pipe restoration to it´s services. Sleeves, brought forward in place inside the pipes were sealed by pressed - in cement.

1995

The sewer pipe restoration service offers were extended, The application of liners for the restoration of long sections of sewer pipes without digging up the groud was introduced.

1997

The first Controlled Jet Cam was developed. Driven, Held in position and directed tothe spot of interest by remote controlled high - pressure water jets, it can even move up into branching pipes.

1999

The Controlled Jet Cam was filed for patent application and it was presented for the first time at the IFAT at Munich, Germany.

2000

World- wide marketing of the Controlled Jet Cam started. The first presentation of the Controlled Jet Cam at the Pumper& Cleaner Environmental Expo international took place in February at Nashville, Tennessee.

2001

The legal form of the company was changed to OberdorferAG, a shareholder company, registered at Nuremberg, Germany.
